Expert Geophysics Limited (EGL) is a geophysical company specializing in airborne geophysical surveys worldwide with advanced electromagnetic systems with the combination or separate magnetic field measurements and gamma spectrometry. EGL offers the latest innovation in airborne geophysical technologies:

Mobile MagnetoTellurics (MobileMT) is the most advanced generation of airborne AFMAG technology. Utilizing naturally occurring electromagnetic fields in the frequency range of 25 Hz – 21,000 Hz, the MobileMT system combines the latest advances in electronics, airborne system design, and sophisticated signal processing techniques. Find general information about MobileMT airborne geophysical surveys, technical specifications, deliverables and applications here.

MobileMTm system is a modification of the original MobileMT technology that is aimed toward identification and imaging of discrete targets and complex structures in the depth range from near surface up to several hundred meters. The MobileMTm system was developed specifically for identification of discrete targets and structural features, with the focus on the relatively near surface depth range. The nominal depth of investigation of the system is on the order of several hundred meters, however, under certain conditions, it can extend to up to 1 km. Details and a field example here.

TargetEM, a time-domain system  with powerful and low-noise engineering structure. In addition, the TargetEM system is designed to provide VLF and AFMAG data along with time-domain EM data. The system comprises a transmitter loop with  three component (X,Y,Z) receiver located in the middle of the transmitter loop and a total field magnetometer. The system is ideal for searching and precise targeting discrete conductors and for differentiating contrast stratigraphy in the depth range of hundreds of meters. See details here.

mTEM, a time-domain system for detailed near-surface investigations. mTEM is the only system in the industry able to get clear data in industrial areas with electromagnetic disruption. See details here.

Magnetometry – the airborne magnetometer is a state-of-the-art system developed by EGL.  It utilizes a Geometrics G822A or Scintrex CB-3 cesium magnetometer sensor, installed in the separate towed-bird and the high accuracy Larmor frequency counter developed. Magnetometry is combined with all electromagnetic systems, as well as used separately.

Gamma spectrometry – A Radiation Solutions Airborne Gamma Ray Spectrometer, with a sampling interval of 1.0 second. The system is self-calibrating and will be configured to 16.8l NaI (Tl) volume detector array. Spectra stabilization: real time automatic corrections on radio nuclei: Th, U, K. No implanted sources. Time to stabilization: on the ground usually less than 1 minute and in the air usually less than 4 minutes.

  • RS-500 Advanced digital gamma-ray Spectrometer
  • 1024 channel resoultion
  • 5 large volume NaI(TI) detectors configured to operate as 4 downward looking detectors (16L) and one upward looking detector (4L)
  • 1 Hz data output

The gamma-ray spectrometer can be used together with a magnetometer and electromagnetic systems.
